How can such little kitties bring so much love and happiness into our lives?

There's something so wholesome about baby cats. They aren't perfect, since they are trying to discover the world in that tiny body, so we can't expect them to do everything right or know everything. But what is it about them that is adorable? My guess is how innocent they are. We don't remember being babies, but looking at these little critters a few weeks old helps put into perspective that we were that tiny once, and it's awesome to see how much we've accomplished in these 20, 30, or 40 years of being here.

For some of us, patting ourselves on the back and feeling proud is easy. But for others, it's not that simple. Why do we always have to be in the best shape and form and excel at everything we do? Cats don't do that: they take the time to learn and understand how the world works so they can navigate it better. Why don't we do that with ourselves? I really don't know why. We set these big expectations for ourselves that the only thing they do is discourage us… I'm not saying we should be mediocre or not set goals, but make sure you take things slowly and calmly, the same way little kittens discover the world.

If you can relate to that feeling… hey, you're not alone! Most of us struggle with this, and it's more common than you think. Next time, remember that there's nothing rushing you and that anxiety is only in your head. Breathe, and calm down. Have you noticed that most of these kitten memes are wholesome and positive? It's because animals don't get to be negative or demanding… they just exist, and they are perfect the way they are. I love how cats don't have high expectations for themselves… they do for humans and are always judging us, but not themselves. Isn't that how things should be? It's tiring to always be chasing that goal that is supposed to bring us happiness, joy, and fulfillment. But it almost never happens. We end up exhausted and disappointed in ourselves. That's not how I want to spend my life! I want to feel empathetic and be compassionate with myself… in the end, it's the first time I'm living and discovering the world, the same way these little kitties are. It's nice to scroll through these memes and get to see how loving and cute they are. See? I'm not rushing… Heck yeah, I'm improving already! Good for me!

Hey… jokes aside. Next time you feel pressured or anxious, take a deep breath and remember to be compassionate with yourself. As I said before, you're living this life for the first time, just like these little kitties, so you don't need to master everything on the first try. We learn with time and patience, so be kind to yourself.
